Philanthropy Events

Philanthropy Events

The women of Tri Sigma are passionate about giving back to our community and world. We host numerous philanthropy events each semester to raise money for our national philanthropies: March of Dimes and the Sigma Sigma Sigma Foundation.

Along with the national philanthropies, we work locally in our community as well. Pi Chapter at Emporia State works with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention or AFSP. We host the Emporia AFSP Out of the Darkness Walk each spring, where we raise money for this life-saving organization. During the fall semester we hold Super Dance, a fundraising event with Sigma Tau Gamma.

Super Dance

During Super Dance, Tri Sigma pairs with another fraternity to make signs and volunteer to dance in Kellogg circle to receive donations from cars that stop by. The money raised is split between the organizations and given to their local philanthropies.

Out of the Darkness Walk

The Out of the Darkness Walk raises awareness for Suicide Prevention and is held annually as way to remember those who have been affected by suicide. We create an event with activities, raffle baskets, and auction items to raise money for AFSP. This event is extremely important to us, and we take pride in hosting it.
